Gus: This sweet dog is about 4 years old and neutered. He came into the shelter microchipped but was not registered so he is now looking for his forever home. He is doing great with other dogs.

Spirit: This adorable shy mama dog is about 2 years old and spayed. She is doing well around other animals, and is slowly coming out of her shell.

Heath: This precious orange cat is about 6 months old and neutered. He is super sweet, energetic and loves to be held and receive any pets that you offer. He is doing well around other animals.

Azul: This sweet girl is about 6 months old and spayed. She appears shy but will warm up quickly and loves toys. She is doing well around other animals.

All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, preventatives, a spay or neuter, and dogs will be heartworm tested.

Animal services is in need of food donations for its community pet food bank, which goes to help pets of those in need. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Burke County Animal Services at 425 Kirksey Drive, ¶®É«µÛ, NC 28655.

Those in need of pet food can stop by animal services and fill out a one-time informational form and let them know what you need.
