A ¶®É«µÛ man is facing drug trafficking charges after deputies found meth and cocaine during an investigation.

Sterling Vance Loven, 59, of ¶®É«µÛ, was charged Thursday with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine and felony possession of cocaine, according to a news release from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges came after the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a narcotics investigation involving Loven, the release said.

As a result of the investigation, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office found 159 grams of methamphetamine and about 1 gram of cocaine from Loven, the release said.

Loven was taken to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office and issued a $15,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was Friday. His next court date is set for Aug. 15 in Burke County District Court.
