The town of Glen Alpine will have a new mayor. The town’s current mayor lost a bid for a seat on the town’s board of aldermen, according to election results Tuesday night.
William Kevin Herron was unopposed in his race for mayor in Glen Alpine and received 142 votes (90.45%)
Michelle Lewis has been serving as the mayor of Glen Alpine but ran in this election for one of the three alderman seats up for grabs.
However, Lewis garnered 64 votes (12.60%), not enough to earn a seat. Her husband, Jody Lewis, who also was running for a seat on the board, received 42 votes (8.27%), according to a the complete, but unofficial, election results.
The election results will be canvassed and certified on Nov. 14.
The top vote-getter for an alderman seat was Chad Wykle, who received 111 votes (21.85%), followed by incumbent Jason Miller, getting 105 votes (20.67%), and incumbent Sheila Perkins, receiving 75 votes (14.76%).
Lucas Huffman received 74 votes (14.57%) and Synthia Adams got 34 votes (6.69%).
Town of Drexel
In the town of Drexel, incumbent Mayor Dennis Anthony was unopposed in the election and received 128 votes (88.89%).
For the two alderman seats up for election, David Harmon won with 84 votes (31%) and incumbent Scott Coe was reelected with 72 votes (26.57%).
Of the other candidates for the two seats, Victoria Taylor received 59 votes (21.77%) and Brad Ritch got 55 votes (20.30%).
Jennifer Yount was unopposed and will fill out her father Terry Yount’s unexpired alderman term, receiving 130 votes (95.59%). Terry Yount died in May, less than a month after stepping down from the board.
Connelly Springs
In the town of Connelly Springs, Carroll Turner was unopposed for the mayor’s seat, receiving 90 votes (93.75%).
As for the three alderman seats up for election, some familiar faces will be back on the board. Bobby Tomlinson received 82 votes (27.15%), Adam Greene got 73 votes (24.17%) and Charles Berry garnered 59 votes (19.54%).
Shannon Dodd came fourth with 48 votes (15.89%), Steve Starnes garnered 20 votes (6.62%) and Jonah Serva received 16 votes (5.30%).

The ¶®É«µÛ City Council races for District 3 and District 4 were unopposed.
Molly McKay won District 3 with 635 votes (96.80%) and incumbent Wendy Cato won District 4 with 612 votes (94.88%).
