Due to projected wintry weather in North Carolina this week, the high school basketball playoffs seeding timetable and the schedule for individual state wrestling championships has changed.
"After monitoring the forecast for inclement weather scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, consulting with the Greensboro Coliseum staff and discussing with the multiple parties needed to conduct the wrestling tournament, we settled on a change in the wrestling schedule in the interest of safety for all of those involved," North Carolina High School Athletic Association Commissioner Que Tucker said in a press release on Tuesday.
The NCHSAA also pushed back when basketball seeds will be set for playoffs from Saturday to Sunday. The change is aimed to allow conference tournaments to be completed after any weather postponements. Schools and conferences now will have until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday to report information for seeding, according to the press release.
