The Bandys High School Athletic Department hired Lindsey Adams as the school’s new girls basketball head coach.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Adams will also join the faculty as a family and consumer science teacher, according to a press release from the school.
Adams joins Bandys after a successful five-year tenure as the head women’s basketball coach and physical education teacher at Davie County High School. When she took over the Davie program in 2020, the team was coming off a 0-25 season and had a combined record of 15-82 over the previous four years. Under Adams’ leadership, Davie saw a turnaround. The team’s record improved each year, culminating with a 20-8 record last winter. Her efforts earned her Central Piedmont Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2021 and 2025.
A native of Burke County, Adams was a standout player at Patton High School and later at Freedom High School where she was a key member of the 2016 state championship team. She went on to play collegiate basketball at Coker University before earning her degree in health and physical education from Appalachian State University.
During her time at Appalachian State, Adams completed her student teaching at Hickory High School and served as an assistant coach under longtime Hickory High School and former Bandys High School coach Barbara Helms.
