Free concerts will be held in Catawba, Burke and Iredell counties this weekend.
Burke County
The group Baby Black Band will kick off the city of ɫ’s TGIF Summer Concerts on Friday.
The celebration begins with food and drink vendors opening at 6 p.m. at the Historic Burke County Courthouse Amphitheater Stage located at 102 E. Union St. in ɫ, the city said in a news release. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.
The audience is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
Baby Black Band plays a range of songs from ’70s classics to today’s top hits, the city said.

Catawba County
The indie-soul rock band Random Animals will kick off the city of Hickory’s 2025 Sails Original Music Series on Friday, the city said in a news release.
The performance begins at 7 p.m. on Union Square in downtown Hickory.
Random Animals’ music fuses elements of indie-rock, funk, R&B, jazz and soul, the release said.

The audience can use available seating located on Union Square or bring blankets and lawn chairs, the city said.
Alcohol may be consumed in Hickory’s social district if purchased from a local vendor. Outside alcohol is prohibited, the city said.
Iredell County
Country and rock band Ashes & Arrows will start the Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 concert series.
The concert will be at 6 p.m. in front of Mitchel College in downtown Statesville along West Broad Street, the city of Statesville said in a Facebook post.
Ashes & Arrows is best known for its appearance on “America’s Got Talent.” The band made it to the semifinals during season 19.
Alcohol and food sales will begin at 5 p.m. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, the city said.
