Dolly Parton: This dog is about 1 ½ years old and spayed. She does great with other dogs, cats and children. She is currently in a foster home that says she is a super sweet girl and would be a great dog for anyone. Please send an email to enquire about meet-and-greets with Dolly Parton.

Sunny: This dog is about 2 years old and spayed. She has been in and out of the system for a while and deserves the best home. She does well with animals and children. She loves to play, so an active family would be good for her, but she does not mind snoozing on the couch. You will easily fall in love.

Meeko: This sweet kitten is about 4 months old and is a new addition into the shelter's care. He is currently being fostered but will be back into the shelter on July 15. He will be neutered that day as well. He is doing well around other animals and children and loves to play and to be cuddled. Please email or come to the shelter after July 15 to enquire about or meet this guy.

Aleu: This kitten is the sister to Meeko and is also 4 months old. She also loves to be held and played with and is doing well around other animals and children. She will come back on July 15 as well and will be spayed that day. Email or come to the shelter after the 15th to meet or enquire about her. 

All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, preventatives, a spay or neuter, and dogs will be heartworm tested.

Animal services is in need of food donations for its community pet food bank, which goes to help pets of those in need. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Burke County Animal Services at 425 Kirksey Drive, ¶®É«µÛ, NC 28655.

Those in need of pet food can stop by Animal Services and fill out a one-time informational form and let them know what you need.
