Robert "Bob" Small, 88, of ¶®É«µÛ, NC, joined his family in Heaven on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 13, 1936, he was the son of the late S. A. "Boots" Small and Lois Virginia Saunders Small.
Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in ¶®É«µÛ and had served as an usher and a deacon. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Western Piedmont Community College as a computer system administrator. He worked part-time at Sossoman Funeral Home, and Bob enjoyed playing golf with his work buddies from the college.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Anne E. Small; nieces and nephews, Mark Small, Greg Deese, Kevin Deese (Lisa), Heath Denton (Michelle), Hal Denton (Martha), and Heather Robinson (David).
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene "Jean" Small; and a brother, Lewis "Boots" Small.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2025, at First Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.
