Church anniversary
Salem United Methodist Church,1206 Salem Road, ɫ, will celebrate its 225th anniversary at 10:35 a.m. The Rev. Ken Carter, bishop of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, will be the guest speaker. The service also will include a historic retrospective of the church and special music. A potluck meal will be served after the service in the church’s fellowship hall.

Lake James Fire and Rescue will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m., with board elections to be held from 4-5:45 p.m. The results of the election to vacancies on the board of directors, financial reports and any necessary corporation business will be on the agenda.
