Cheryl Putnam will take over as the new principal of George Hildebrand Elementary. Putnam was an assistant principal at Draughn High School, Shuffler said.
Putnam’s roots are in elementary school, although she has served most recently in middle and high schools, Swan said.
“Please join me in congratulating these talented leaders on their new roles,” Swan said in an email.
The changes follow the May announcements from the school system of retirements and changes in principals at five schools.
The announcements in May were:

Ginger Stinson, principal of Heritage Middle School, will move to a district-level coordinator role, overseeing the Multi-Tiered System of Supports, GEAR UP and Career and College Promise programs.
